LEWISTON – The ninth Back-to-School bag give-away will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the B Street Community Center, 57 Birch St.

Last year was to be the end of the Downtown Neighborhood Association’s give-away, however, the number of calls received exceeded the number of bags available. So the association decided to continue with the event, which will be reduced to bags and supplies only, given with the help of sponsors.

Parents are asked to preregister by calling 782-4624 or 777-5144. Those wishing to donate items can also call the above numbers.

Bags will be given out only by appointment. Due to the limited availability of the bags, walk-ins will not be accepted.
