WEST PARIS – Residents may recognize a special friend, teacher, parent, nurse, spouse or child by having his/her name published in the 2007 town report.
To honor or remember someone, those wishing may make a contribution of $5 or more to help the Bench Committee purchase granite benches for the town park. Donors or recipients do not have to live in the town.
To advertise a business and thank the townspeople for their support, firms may donate and have a business name printed in the report. Funds will also go toward purchase of the benches.
The granite benches are being ordered. They are smooth-topped slab with rough sides and will be set on cement pads. They may be engraved with a business name, “in memory of,” “a gift from” or “in honor of.” They will be set in early November and a celebration is planned.
Make checks payable to the town of West Paris with a “bench fund” notation and mail them to Alta Pierce, PO Box 208, West Paris, ME 04289 or to Sylvia McCann, 117 Main St., West Paris, ME 04289. Those who would like to join the committee or for more information, call 674-2105 or 674-2114.
