This is in response to the letter from Charles and Diane Doyon, published July 29 in the Sun Journal.

The Catholic church in California did not have priests who were accused of homosexual acts with “some of the flock.” They were accused, and many convicted of, sexual crimes against children. The $660 million lawsuit is the result of the charges of sexual abuse against children. Period.

What is the purpose of the Doyons’ shifting blame to the gay community? Denial?

I would suggest that they don’t put the church’s problems on the gay community.

Are the Doyons suggesting that the prepubescent children who were abused were all homosexuals? Girls, too?

Many studies have found men who are attracted to young boys are attracted to adult women as their second choice.

If people want to blast a segment of the community, they ought to get their facts straight…and leave the innocent alone, or pray for them.
