BRUNSWICK – “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” will open Friday, Aug. 17, at the Theater Project. Written by The Reduced Shakespeare Company, this show creatively compresses all of Shakespeare’s plays into one performance, with “Othello” performed as a rap, the histories reimagined as a football game, and the shortest version of “Hamlet” ever.

The play is directed by Patrick McGuire. Cast members are Carl Elsaesser, Katie Estabrook, and Sean McGuire, all of whom are experienced members of the Theater’s Young Company. Costumes were designed by Lauren Cross and Bonnie Paige, also Young Company veterans.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 17-19. Tickets are pay-what-you-want, with a suggested donation of $10. For reservations, call 729-8584.
