Dear Sun Spots: I hope you can please help me. I am looking for a bra size 46C and I’ve looked at all the stores in the Lewiston and Auburn areas. All I find is 42C. It’s very hard for me to find bras that fit.
Is there a store that sells to big-breasted ladies?
I enjoy your column a lot. Thanks. – No Name, No Town.
Answer: Sun Spots contacted J.C. Penney’s Lingerie Department in the Auburn Mall, 786-2936, for assistance. Many thanks to bra fitter Rachel Thibeault who had a wealth of information for Sun Spots and column readers and was delighted at the opportunity to share this with you all.
Thibeault says they do carry a Playtex 18-Hour bra in 46C. She says you can also order from their catalog which also carries up to a size 52 band.
In addition, Thibeault said you and other ladies are just in time for their bra fitting event taking place this week from Aug. 12 to 21. You should call the lingerie department to make an appointment. They are open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You might also check with them in case they’ve any special sales going on in which case they are often open until 10 p.m. and as early as 7 a.m.
T.J.Maxx, 730 Center St., Auburn, (near Joanne’s Fabrics), 783-4593, also carries up to a size 42D and you might also check in with them. They are open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
Sun Spots also contacted Lady Grace at the Maine Mall, 343 Gorham Road, South Portland, 774-8139 who said they carry bra sizes from 30AA up to 58L. They are open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
You can also reach them online at www.ladygrace.com. In addition, you might consider contacting Lane Bryant, also in the Maine Mall, 772-8029. Their smallest band size is a 36 and largest is 48.
Smallest cup is DDD and they sell up to F, G and H cups but for those you’ll need to check online. They are open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are located nearby the food court and The Gap.
Dear Sun Spots: After microwaving all my food for 35 years, I finally broke my Corning microwave browning dish. It was about 10-by-10-by-2.
It had a lid. If anyone has one that is intact and perfect working order, that no longer use, I am very interested in it. Corning stopped making them in the 1980s. I may be reached via e-mail at [email protected] or by phone at 782-5919. Thank you. – M. Schuler, No Town.
Dear Sun Spots: Many thanks to the lady who gave me the Deal a Meal plan and to all the kind people who offered me the same. Thanks also to Sun Spots for the great service that you provide for us. – A Sun Spots Fan.
Dear Sun Spots: Thank you for your spot in the paper. You have no idea how many questions you answer daily for your readers.
I would like to know if there is someone out there interested in making lamps. I have various components, glass and metal. Please call me if you’re interested. I may be reached at 777-5614. – No Name, No Town.
