Dear Sun Spots: If anyone in the Lisbon area has some seven- and 11-inch plastic pots that they would like to get rid of, I would be glad to pick them up.

Dear Sun Spots: Like many others before me, this is my first time writing to this column. I am hoping you or your readers can assist me. My mother gave me her old tools for working leather into purses, wallets, belts and more.

I was wondering if you knew of someone who teaches classes in tooling leather.

In addition, I am also interested in learning small engine repair. I took a class a few years ago at the high school but unfortunately that has since stopped. I’ve called CMCC but to no avail. Do you know if there would be any place around here that would teach me this craft? Thank you for all you do. – Denise, Lewiston.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, you might consider checking in with your local adult education departments. This is a good time to start doing so as many are getting ready to release their listing of fall classes.

Dear Sun Spots: I’m cleaning out the clutter in my garage and have a large room sized linoleum made by Armstrong.

I tried donating it to Habitat for Humanities but they were not interested so if anyone could use a new floor I only ask that they come pick it up.

I’d like to get my wooden swing replaced. The frame is still in good condition but the seat needs to be replaced.

Do you know of anyone in the LA area that could do this kind of work? My last request is for help in repairing an asphalt walkway. I have a crescent shape hole where a pipe broke during the winter. It’s too small for most contractors to do and too big for a cold patch.

Any suggestions would be helpful. I may be reached at 786-4420. – Sue Miller, Lewiston.
