WEST PARIS – A meeting between representatives from Paris, Greenwood and West Paris has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday to discuss sharing an emergency management agency director.

West Paris selectman’s Chairman Dennis Henderson said job descriptions and advertising for candidates will be on the agenda.

“Right now, all three towns feel sharing a director will be the best way to go and, although we are not sure of Woodstock, they might be joining us to make it a four-way merger,” Henderson said.

Greenwood and West Paris have not had an EMA director for several months and it seemed to officials that a merger would assure leadership and organization.

Woodstock Town Manager Vern Maxfield said, “We haven’t decided for sure yet but we are considering it. We are just looking further into how well it would benefit the town to merge or continue to go it on our own as we are now.”

Representatives will gather in the meeting room at the West Paris Town Office.
