Granite Falls, N.C. – Tammy Lee Dubois, 42, formerly of Washburn, died on April 19 in Granite Falls, N.C., the result of an automobile accident.

She was born Sept. 26, 1964, in Presque Isle, the daughter of the late Clifton and Elaine (Bondeson) Chamberlain. She grew up in Crouseville, graduating from Washburn District High School in 1982. She then graduated from Berkshire Christian College in Lenox, Mass., in 1986, with a bachelor’s degree in theology and business administration.

She married Philip C. DuBois on June 24, 1989. She worked for the Kofstad Insurance Agency for several years, before moving to the Oxford Hills area in 2002. She then worked for Dr. Tere Porter, optometrist, for three years.

She had been a member of the Dunntown Advent Christian Church in Washhburn, holding several leadership positions. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Oxford Advent Christian Church. She was active in foster and adoptive care programs.

She is survived by her mother of Ashland; her husband of Oxford; her son, Jamie of Oxford; a sister and her husband, Katrina and Rev. John Fogell, of Alton Bay, N.H.; two brothers and their wives, Andrew and Bonnie Chamberlain, of Marietta, Ga., and the Rev. Alan and Esther Chamberlain, of Friendship; mother-in-law, Phyllis DuBois; and brother-in-law, the Rev. Sidney Dubois, both of Friendship; two sisters-in-law, Hazel and the Rev. Clayton Blackstone, of Bangor, and Patricia and Dr. Darrell Thompson, of North Tazewell, Va.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
