Brunswick – Erna H. Foster, 86, of 245 Rabbit Road, Durham, departed this world Saturday, Aug. 11, at Midcoast Hospital.

Born in Dresden, Germany, on Aug. 18, 1920, the daughter of Ella Prange, she was educated in Portland schools.

She was married to Edgar R. Foster, who died in 1988.

She was a member of the Durham Congregational Church and worked as a waitress in her younger days and in housekeeping in a nursing home prior to her retirement.

She is survived by two daughters, Rosemary E. Aiello of Durham and Rosalie E. Russell and her husband, Harold, of East Hartford, Conn.; three grandchildren, Brenda and Christopher Woiccak, Tonia and Gary Smith and Leesa Russell and fiancé, David Santiago; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
