I am writing in response to the letter from Robert Clark, printed Aug. 10, concerning the city of Lewiston’s new pro-active program to curb the grafitti problem in the city.
I believe in keeping things very simple. If you don’t like something that is happening in Lewiston, and you live in Auburn, stay in Auburn. No one is twisting anyone’s arm to come here.
To doubt that the grafitti artists have any real artistic ability, then probably Clark has never gone to the walls that have been made available in Portland. Some beautiful murals have been painted.
I’m hoping people will give this program a chance.
It just might work, and could actually beautify part of the downtown.
