Army National Guard Capt. David F. Roy has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Roy, a media escort officer, is assigned to the 65th Public Affairs Co., Lexington. He has 18 years of military service. He is the son of Roland M. and Gabrielle A. Roy of Lewiston. His wife, Michelle, is the daughter of Joseph L. and Virginia McDonald of Norton, Mass.

The captain graduated in 1989 from Lewiston High School and received a bachelor’s degree in 1997 from Norwich University, Northfield, Vt. He earned a master’s degree in 2005 from Nichols College, Dudley, Mass.
