FARMINGTON – There will be an open house at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s Master Gardener Learning Garden from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

The garden is located at 147 Farmington Falls Road at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Office. Featured in the open house will be examples of new vegetable varieties, how to manage insect pests, composting, raised bed garden construction, gardening for the hungry and much more.

There is no cost for the event and all gardeners are invited to learn something new to take home to their gardens. The garden is handicapped accessible. For more information, call 778-4650.
