Harrison – Suzanne Noel Groetzinger, 44, of Berwick, formerly of Norway, drowned in a boating accident on Aug. 11.
A mother of three, a sister to five, and a friend to many, Sue was happiest in a sweatshirt by a campfire. She made a difference in the many lives she touched.
Always a voice of reason and a smile of reassurance, anyone could count on her.
Even though we feel we didn’t tell her enough how much she meant to us, we now know that when we think of all the things that mean the most to us in our lives, we think of Sue, our sister, our mother, and our lifelong friend.
She was born in Oceanside, N.Y., July 31, 1963, the daughter of Lawrence and Johanna (Hanson) Sokol. She was raised in Litchfield, later moving to the Oxford Hills area.
She is survived by three children, Alyssa Groetzinger of Otisfield, Blaine Groetzinger of Portland, and Jordan Edwards of Oxford; three brothers, Lawrence Sokol Jr. of Long Island, N.Y., Stephen Sokol of Plantation, Fla., and Richard Sokol of Berwick; and two sisters, Elizabeth Bryant of Plantation, Fla., and Christine Bouchard of Waterville; and many nieces and nephews.
