Claudia Avery graduated as an RN from Central Maine Medical School of Nursing on May 3. She has employment at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Avery, of Kaiserlautern, Germany, is married to Donald Avery of Salem. They have one son, James.

Before her nursing studies, Avery was a supervisor at the United Economic Ministry in Salem for seven years. She then went on to become a CNA and worked at Sandy River Health Care for five years. While at college, she was elected into the Kappa Alpha Phi XI Chapter.
