MONMOUTH – Edward (Buzz) W. and Joyce Knight Jr. of Monmouth recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. Knight and the former Joyce Riggs were married in Monmouth on July 22, 1957.
They have lived in Monmouth, Holbrook, Mass., and South Weymouth, Mass., and have now retired to Lake Cochnewagan, Monmouth.
Mrs. Knight has been a homemaker and bookkeeper. Mr. Knight has been an educator and administrator for the Weymouth School System, and an off-campus representative for Northeastern University.
They have three children, Karen and husband, Michael Cyr, of Monmouth, Jeffrey and wife, Audrie Knight, of Pembroke, Mass., and Lynda Russo and Tom Trott of South Weymouth, Mass. They have seven grandchildren, Andrew Cyr of Merrimack, N.H., Matthew Cyr of Hyde Park, Mass., Courtney and Craig Knight of Pembroke, Mass., and Jessica, Stephanie and Ashley Russo of South Weymouth, Mass.
Family and friends from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Florida joined at a cookout on Saturday, July 21, at the Cyr home. The anniversary celebration was held on Sunday, July 22, at the Augusta Country Club in Manchester. A welcome was given by son, Jeff. Humorous memories were shared and the toast given by best man, Norman Chick. Rowena Chick was the matron of honor.
