LEWISTON – A party was held on July 14 for Del and Priscella Gendron of Lewiston, in honor of their 60th wedding anniversary. The event was held at the Ramada Inn.

Mr. Gendron and the former Priscella Melanson were wed on June 7, 1947, at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston. About 280 guests attended the event, including 12 couples from Canada.

Their children are George and wife, Diane, Diane and husband, Bob Darling, David and wife, Donna, and son, Mike. They also have two deceased children, Celine and Steven. Their grandchildren are Rodney and wife, Kim, Todd and wife, Kylee, Kim and husband, Andrew Colopietro, Stacie and husband, Rob Drum, Shana and husband, Tom Pitman, Mikey, Tracy, Nichole, Steven and Madison. They also have seven great-grandchildren.

The celebration began with the renewal of wedding vows, with the Rev. Dan Greenleaf officiating. The bridal attendants were Fern Forgues, best man, Jeannine Labbie, maid of honor, and Marie Dehetre, bridesmaid.

A toast was given by their son, George, followed by an elegant dinner. Following dinner, the “Anniversary Waltz” was played and Sue Rouleau sang “After All These Years.”

During the course of the evening, five sets of diamond earrings were given away every hour to a lucky person.

Mr. Gendron is former owner of Gendron and Gendron Construction and is currently semi-retired.
