LISBON FALLS – Lucy A. Roehrig, 75, of Howard Street, died Thursday, Aug. 16, at her home.
She was born in Bath on Feb. 14, 1934, a daughter of Harold J. and Edith L. Small Haggett. She graduated from Morse High School in 1951.
She married Leon E. Roehrig on June 18, 1954, in Bath.
As a youth growing up on the family farm in Bath, she rode horses and developed a lifelong love of all animals, especially cats.
She worked, before her marriage, as a telephone operator for New England Telephone, and as a Mary Kay sales representative later in life. Most of her life, however, was devoted to raising her family.
She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling to the White Mountains, collecting dolls, reading Nora Roberts novels, listening to music, and hosting large family gatherings at Christmas. She supported many charities that helped the less fortunate.
Her husband, who died in 1989, predeceased her. Leon was active in local town politics and was co-owner of Professional Graphics in Auburn.
She is survived by a daughter, Marcia L. Shafer and her husband, David, of Lisbon Falls; and a brother, Donald E. Haggett and his wife, Lynda, of Buxton.
