FARMINGTON – The Board of Appeals denied a variance to a Rite Aid developer’s application to exceed the town’s 100-square-foot maximum sign area allowance, Code Enforcement Officer Steve Kaiser said Friday.
Rite Aid plans to build a new store on lower Main Street where the Farmington Diner, former Quizno’s and a C.N. Brown service station are located. Developers requested a sign area of 193.7 square feet.
The board made the decision Wednesday night, and after the meeting Kaiser said the developer discussed making one of the exterior signs smaller to comply with the town’s sign ordinance.
