Debbie Ellis of Vienna bought corn Monday at the Sandy River Farm’s tent at Maple Avenue and Farmington Falls Road in Farmington. Owner Bussie York said they are selling 100 dozen ears at the site with three to four hundred dozen being picked everyday, seven days a week, rain or shine. He supplies several local stores as well as locations in Rangeley, Rumford and Jay. Nine different varieties of sweet corn were planted on 25 acres and planted at three different times to keep the supply coming until September. He also plants half an acre of cucumbers and has tomatoes from his daughter’s greenhouse. MacIntosh apples from Wilton were also available.
