LEWISTON – Yvette L. Roux, 81, of 9 Seville Place, Lewiston, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, Aug. 19, at Russell Park Manor following a short illness.

She was born in Hamlin Plantation on Aug. 28, 1925, the daughter of Denis and Melvina (Roy) Langlais and had been a resident of this community all of her life. She was educated in local schools and had been a homemaker all of her life.

She was married to Roger Roux on Nov. 25, 1944, and he died on Nov. 2, 1999.

She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church.

Yvette enjoyed being a eucharistic minister and eating out and dancing every Saturday night. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Roux and his wife, Pat, of Estero, Fla., and Gene Roux and his wife, Terry, of Lewiston; one daughter, Charleen Jandreau of Lewiston; one brother, Gene Langlais of Sabattus; six sisters, Blanche Legendre of Lewiston, Pauline Thibault of Winslow, Lucille Dehetre of Lewiston, Georgette Reny and her husband, Randy, of Augusta, Jeanne Poulin of Texas and Doreen Lebrun and her husband, Don, of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Peter Roux and his wife, Ann, of Tennessee, Steven Jandreau of Brunswick and Kim Robash and her husband, Justin, of Lewiston.

The family would like to thank Dr. George Morrissette and his staff and Russell Park Manor for all the wonderful care they gave to Yvette during her illness.
