FARMINGTON – The Mt. Blue High School Cougars will challenge each other to what they hope will be the first annual “senior games” on Saturday, Aug. 25.
For the first half hour, the seniors on the girls’ field hockey team will play a game of football against their male counterparts. But fair is fair; next, the football team seniors will don skirts and challenge the field hockey team to their sport.
Both games will be officiated by experienced officials, who will keep safety a priority, and all game rules will apply. The fundraiser was the idea of field hockey parents Maureen Oswald, Laura Robinson and Rena Deschenes.
It is being organized by football parents Joan Gilbert and Ellie Duley as well, and all proceeds will be split evenly between the two teams.
The public is invited to attend and support the event, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. Admission will be $3 for adults and $1 for students and seniors.
