Norway – Edwin E. Paakkonen, 78, of Oxford, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.

He was born in Tuell Town, North Paris, on June 19, 1929, the son of Uljas E. and Martha K. Kangas Paakkonen. He was educated in Sumner schools and had been employed at Wilner Wood Products most of his working life. He served in the National Guard.

He is survived by his sisters, Rosa Herrick of Norway, and Gloria Garmon of Alaucha, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Wilho “Willie.”
