LEWISTON – John R. Willette, 80, of Litchfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Montello Manor.

He was born in Kingman on July 27, 1927, a son of Dennis and Della (Thompson) Willette.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Sabattus.

John served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam, from 1945 to 1946 and 1950 to 1966, and retired with the rank of HMC.

Survivors include three brothers, George of Lewiston, William of Wales and Michael Willette of Sabattus; five sisters, Delia Beaulieu of Lewiston, Lucille Popadak of Lisbon Falls, Sandra Willette of Lewiston, Sheila Gottusso of Buffalo, N.Y., and Patricia McNulty of Waterville.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Clarence, Manzer, Roland and Dennis Willette; and sisters, Gloria Rafferty and Lorraine Willette.
