AUBURN – Bonney Park was named in honor of Auburn police officer Rodney “Rocky” Bonney, who was killed in the line of duty. The park’s name and officer’s surname were incorrectly spelled in the Aug. 21 Sun Spots column, as well as in a dedication story published May 15. The errors were made by the Sun Journal.
