GREENE -The sons of Raymond L. Anctil and Claire Roger-Anctil of Greene, took the opportunity to surprise their parents at their annual family summer gathering with a 50th wedding anniversary party.

The celebration was hosted by their son, Kerry, and his wife, Stephanie Nappi-Anctil, at their home in South Windham. The couple has four sons, Kerry, Mark, John and Steve, and four grandchildren.

Mr. Anctil and the former Claire Roger were married on July 13, 1957, at Saints Peter and Paul Church. Longtime Lewiston residents, they moved to a new home in Greene two years ago.

After many years of working as a master electrician/electrical designer at Bath Iron Works, Mr. Anctil retired in 1999, and has volunteered with the Salvation Army.

Mrs. Anctil retired in 2000 after serving as a licensed social worker at Western Older Citizens Council (now Seniors Plus) and Auburn Housing Authority. She now volunteers with Seniors Plus and St. Vincent de Paul.
