ENTERPRISE, Ala. – Bernard Atherton Goding, a resident of Enterprise, Ala., passed away Friday, Aug. 24, at Medical Center Enterprise after a brief illness. He was 82 years old.

He was born on Feb. 22, 1925, in Farmington, to Fred Harry Goding and Grace Pearl Hutchinson Goding, and spent most of his life there.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army, and was employed with Farmington Shoe Shop for several years as a personnel/office manager. He married Marion Cook Goding of Dryden, on July 23, 1950. They resided in the Farmington/Wilton area until August 1992, when they moved to Enterprise, Ala. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Veterans Association, and the American Legion.

He is survived two sons, Terry Alan Goding of Auburn, and Floyd Dennis Goding of Lewiston; six daughters, June Ellen Goding of Ludington, Mich., Pamela Lynn Sears of South China, Monica Lee Whalen of Enterprise, Ala., Sharon Marie Goding of Enterprise, Ala., Nancy Jean Goding of Chesterville, and Beverly Toureau of Mt. Clemens, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; five brothers, Glenn Goding, Robert Goding, Ronald Goding and Floyd Goding; and a sister, Fern Goding; and one granddaughter, Gina L. Goding.
