Dear Sun Spots: Sexual assault survivors and childhood sexual abuse survivors, let your voices be heard! The Sexual Assault Crisis Center is seeking submissions for its fall newsletter.
Please submit short essays and stories, poetry, black and white photographs and any other original works for inclusion in this publication. Submissions from supporters and allies of survivors are also welcome.
Submissions must be received by Sept. 28 and must include the name and contact information for the author/creator.
This publication is a forum for the voices of survivors of sexual assault and abuse to share their feelings, thoughts, memories and insights. Our next edition will be published in October. We reserve the right to edit submissions as deemed necessary for space and content reasons.
While acknowledging possible confidentiality and safety concerns, every effort will be made to contact authors/creators whose work is edited. Please include information regarding the safest way to leave a message should we need to contact you with editing concerns. Submissions without name and contact information cannot be considered. However, you may specify that you wish to identify yourself with first name or initials in the publication.

Dear Sun Spots: Our Lady of the Rosary is seeking crafters for our annual holiday fair. Boothbay Railway Village will have steam train rides during its 34th annual fall foliage festival taking place Oct. 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rain date is Oct. 8. FMI phone 633-4727 or contact the Boothbay Region Information Center at 633-4743.
Conway Scenic Railroad also has trips listed. However, while not identified as foliage train trips, train riders are bound to see the foliage in the Washington Valley area.
