SOUTH PARIS – Carole B. Shuttle, 71, died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 25, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, with family at her side.
She was born Dec. 25, 1935, in Barre, Vt., to Helen Bennet Lunde and Arthur Lunde. A 1953 graduate of Spaulding High School, Barre, Vt., she married Ramon Benvenuti in 1955, and had two sons, John and Robert. Ramon died in 1960. She married Robert J. Shuttle in 1962, and moved to South Paris in 1963.
She loved quilting, knitting, sewing, golf and family. She served as president and treasurer of the Pine Needles Quilters and she leaves a beautiful legacy of her steadfast love for family and others through her renowned and treasured handiwork.
She served as a Cub Scout leader when both of her sons were Scouts. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Paris. She and Robert J. Shuttle of South Paris have been married for 44 years. Her mother, Helen B. Lunde lives in Barre, Vt.
Her family includes two sons, John Benvenuti, and his wife, Becky Benvenuti, of Newmarket, N.H., and Robert Benvenuti, and his fiancée, Nikki Bester, of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren, Andrea Lawrence, and her husband, Ryan Lawrence, of Epping, N.H., Allyson Alexander, and her husband, Christopher Alexander, of Budd Lake, N.J., and James Benvenuti of Newmarket, N.H.; a brother, Henry Lunde, and sister-in-law, Sandra Lunde, of Stowe, Vt.; a sister, Eleanor Induni, and brother-in-law, Michael Induni, of Conover, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family extends special thanks to Central Maine Medical Center’s Radiation Department, St. Mary’s Regional Hospital Infusion Center, Dr. Amir Modarressi and staff, Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and the staff of Maine Veterans’ Home in South Paris.
