HEBRON – The descendants of Mary Elizabeth Steward and Charles Franklin Reed held their annual reunion on Aug. 12 at the home of Richard and Jane Hatch, with 33 family members and three guests attending.
A business meeting was conducted by President Jane Hatch. The secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were read and accepted. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Shirley Rose, who died during the year. An e-mail message was read from Walter (Buddy) and Pattie Ethridge. Officers elected for the ensuing year were: president, Jane Hatch; vice president, Kim Kobierski; secretary, Norma Gilbert; and treasurer, Jonica Poole.
“Happy Birthday” was sung to Scott Poole and Mike Hatch. Recognition was given to the youngest member, Jedrick Kobierski, and the eldest member, Lois Gordon. Three new babies were born into the family this year: Joycelyn Hodgson, great-granddaughter of Elizabeth Sampson; Trent Greenwood, great-grandson of Clarence and Lois Gordon; and Amulet Giberti great-granddaughter of Joyce Poole. The wedding of Harold and Norma Gilbert’s granddaughter, Lauren Alfano, to Christopher Miller took place on July 21 in Lebanon, Tenn.
Following the business meeting, the annual egg toss and pie-eating contests were held, with prizes for the winners.
Family members and guests attended from Auburn, Lewiston, Livermore, Wales, Litchfield, Livermore Falls, Jay, Lisbon, Canton, Hebron and Danvers, Mass.
The 2008 reunion will be held on Aug. 10 at the Hatch home.
