RUMFORD – St. Athanasius-St. John School presents two eighth-grade students the Verlie Child Award each year. The award, a $100 savings bond, is presented to students who display qualities of selflessness, kindness, generosity and sense of humor.

The 2007 awards were presented to Erin Milligan, daughter of Sherry Milligan and the late Michael Milligan, and Spencer Ross, son of Bruce and Cindy Ross.

Both students have achieved high honors throughout their years in prekindergarten to grade eight.
