Society to have exhibit at Mexico credit union
MEXICO – When the Oxford Federal Credit Union holds its annual Customer Appreciation Week, Sept. 4 to 8, it will feature an exhibit by the Rumford Historical Society.
Myrtle McKenna, archivist/historian for the society, and Pat Hopkins will set up an exhibit in the entrance of the credit union. The exhibit will feature photos from River Valley’s past. It will also include a mannequin dressed in the early 1900 clothing, churning butter with an old- fashioned churn.
McKenna greeted visitors at the Lufkin Museum on Aug. 25. The museum will be open one more Saturday, Sept. 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be the last chance this year to view life as it was lived in the early 1900s. A member of the society has been host at the museum every Saturday this summer.
