Grange meeting
POLAND – Members of Excelsior Grange 5, 446 Harris Hill Road, are invited to attend a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, to plan for Grange activities in 2008. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
Installation of Grange officers for the next year will be held Saturday, Sept. 15. All Grange members and those interested in the grange are invited.
Refresher class
LEWISTON – Valerie St. Clair will hold a refresher session on hypnotherapy for weight loss at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, in the Club 50 room at 100 Campus Ave. Preregister by calling 753-5467. The $12 fee is due the night of the event.
Ballroom dance
LEWISTON – HealthSteps, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, will host a variety of specialty classes this fall, including ballroom dancing.
Participants will learn how to glide across a dance floor with the waltz and swing, using basic dance steps and patterns. It will be held Wednesdays, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26; instructor, Diane Williams; $60 a couple; Lepage Large Conference Room, 99 Campus Ave.

Seniors meeting
LEWISTON – Sabattus Senior Citizens will have lunch at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Grid Iron Restaurant followed by a meeting at Maxwell Hall in Sabattus and the possibility of bingo after.
Bob Tanguay has been appointed vice president and Doris Pelletier as meal coordinator. To sign up for meals or questions on meals, call her at 784-7950.
Lunch at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 4 will be at Little Dan’s Barbecue, 757 Main St. The sign-up sheet will be available at the September meeting.

Seniors trips
LEWISTON – Lewiston Senior Citizens will go to Foster’s Clambake in York Harbor on Friday, Sept. 14. The bus will leave at 9:30 a.m.
The trip to Festival of Colors: Auberge Estrimont in Mt. Orford, Quebec, on Sept. 24 to 27 has been canceled due to a fire at the resort.
The Seniors will attend “The Best of Times: A Tasteful ‘A Fun” on Thursday, Oct. 11. The day trip includes a visit to Swan Chocolates in Merrimack, N.H., a lunch at the Common Man Restaurant and a tour of Anheuser-Bush.
On Saturday, Nov. 3, they will travel to North Shore Music Theater for “Les Miserables.”

Adult ed classes
LEWISTON – Lewiston Adult Education’s personal enrichment program kicks off this week. There are more than 20 classes scheduled to begin the first week of September, with more starting throughout the fall.
