RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – Irene Fortier Larochelle, 96, originally from Lewiston, died Aug. 25, at her home in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

She was a homemaker for the first part of her life, but when her husband suffered a massive stroke she became the breadwinner as she worked for Douglas Aircraft and McDonald Douglas.

She is survived by a sister, Muriel Grover of Lewiston; her sons, Bert Fortier of Chino Hills, Calif., Roger Fortier of Phelan, Calif., Ray Fortier of Banning, Calif., and A. Robert Fortier of Yucaipa, Calif.; one daughter, Yvette Paulson of Orange, Calif.; stepson, Marcel Larochelle of Valencia, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
