LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Paul Alfred Courbron Sr., 59, formerly of Greene, suffered a fatal heart attack while on a job site in Tennessee, and died a day later on Aug. 27, at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky. His family rushed to his side and he passed away while held with their loving touch.
He was born on May 9, 1948, the oldest child of George and Maria Courbron, formerly of Greene. He married Theresa Madore in 1967, and they raised five children in Maine.
He worked in his early years in shoe shops and later as a drywaller, and in recent years as a commercial contractor working in the southeastern states.
He married Valerie Goodell in 1993, and they resided for a time in Midway, Ga., and more recently in Ocala, Fla. Together they had been dedicatedly caring for Paul’s ailing father, George in Ocala.
He loved the quiet reflective time as an outdoorsman, hunting and fishing, camping and boating. He loved to laugh and gather with extended family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie Courbron of Ocala, Fal.; sons, Paul Courbron of Lisbon and Dana Courbron of Turner; daughters, Lisa Roy of Turner, Star Chase of Litchfield and Maria Courbron of Lewiston; nine grandchildren; his former wife, Theresa Courbron of Lewiston; his father, George A. Courbron Sr. of Ocala, Fal.; five sisters, Rosemary Merrill of Greene, Audrey Pelkey of Ocala, Fla., Janet Kirouac of Ocala, Fla., Debra Dostie of Leeds and Kathy Adams of Ocala, Fla.; and one brother, George Courbron Jr. of Greene.
He was predeceased by his mother, Maria, just eight days prior to his own demise; one sister, Theresa Desrosier in 1995; and a close niece, Linda Merrill Tardiff in 1986.
