LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon High School Class of 2011 attended an orientation day on Aug. 27 at the high school.

Freshmen students met with the advocacy groups, toured the school and visited with advisers from a number of cocurriculum areas.

Upper class members Sierra Guay and Sara Adams were among the students who presented a “Welcome to LHS” skit and provided introductions and directions to incoming freshmen.

At the Academic Advocate booth were Monica Millhime, Advocate adviser and community resource coordinator for the Lisbon schools, Leo Baillargeon, Sun Journal Advocate editor, Guay and Adams, who are returning to the Advocate staff again this school year.

The Academic Advocate is a student-driven newspaper published as part of the Sun Journal and is one of the many cocurriculum activities available for students. Advocate meetings are scheduled for 7 a.m. Tuesdays at the Philip W. Sugg Middle School and 7 a.m. Thursdays at the high school.

The first high school meeting for Advocate will be 7 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, in in the high school library.
