Dear Sun Spots: What a wonderful service Sun Spots provides to its readers. Hopefully you can help us out. We are trying to find out what happened to Peace Pipe Lodge on the Cobbosseeconte lake in Litchfield. More than 30 years ago, my father rented the lodge for a couple of weeks each summer, for quite a few years, and my family would join him and my mother for wonderful times. We have been unsuccessful in locating the lodge and are wondering what happened to it and where the exact location was. We believed it was owned by Leonard Cohen of Auburn at that time. Any help in locating would be greatly appreciated. – L.T., Lewiston.

Answer: Unfortunately Sun Spots has not located anything on this lodge. However, Sun Spots is sure that there will be other readers recalling this lodge and hopefully willing to share their stories about it.

Dear Sun Spots: I have misplaced my recipe for blueberry muffins with sour cream. Can you please help me? Thank you. – Y.M., Livermore.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, perhaps you and your family will enjoy the following recipe for Blueberry Cream Muffins found online at allrecipes.com:

Ingredients: 4 eggs, 2 cups white sugar, 1 cup vegetable oil, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 2 cups sour cream, 2 cups blueberries. Method: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 24 muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners. In a large bowl beat eggs, gradually add sugar while beating. Continue beating while slowly pouring in oil. Stir in vanilla. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, salt and baking soda. Stir dry ingredients into egg mixture, alternately with sour cream. Gently fold in blueberries. Scoop batter into prepared muffin cups. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes.

In the meantime, perhaps you and your family might also enjoy the following recipe located in a 2002 column from a reader who wanted to provide diabetic-friendly blueberry muffins to readers. Ingredients: 1¾ cups all-purpose flour, 3 tablespoons sugar, 3 tablespoons granulated sugar substitute, 2 teaspoons baking powder, ¼ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon ground allspice, 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries (thawed and drained), ¾ cup fat-free milk, ¼ cup vegetable oil, 1 egg (lightly beaten), 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind, 1 teaspoon grated orange rind, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, cooking spray. Method: Combine the flour, sugar, sugar substitute, baking powder, salt and allspice in a medium bowl. Add blueberries and toss to coat. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. In a separate bowl, combine milk, vegetable oil, egg, lemon rind, orange rind and vanilla. Add to flour mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Spoon batter into muffin pans that have been coated with cooking spray, filling two-thirds full. Bake in a 400-degree Fahrenheit oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden. Remove muffins from pans immediately and cool on wire racks. This recipe makes one-dozen muffins.
