FARMINGTON – Two drivers were injured Friday afternoon in an accident on Route 27 near Ramsdell Road.
The 4:10 p.m. crash remains under investigation, according to Farmington Police Officer Mary Hastings. He said William Noble, 84, of Wilton may have fallen asleep, crossed the centerline, overcorrected and lost control before striking a vehicle driven by Debra Harris, 56, of Farmington.
Both were taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital where they were being treated in the emergency room, a hospital spokesperson said.
Noble was driving a 1992 Lincoln Town Car that had between $12,000 and $15,000 in damage, Hastings said.
The Harris vehicle, a 2004 Buick SUV, was believed to have received $7,000 damage.
Farmington police and Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded along with Farmington Fire Department and NorthStar ambulance.
