NORWAY – Robert E. Dustin, 52, of Chesterville died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 28, while working in Norway.
He was born Dec. 1, 1955, in Farmington, a son of Shelton and Freda (Fuller) Dustin. He attended the schools in Dixfield. He served in the U. S. Navy as a boiler technician from 1971 to 1975. Bob married his best friend and soul mate, Debra on July 24, 1976, in Auburn.
He ran the power plant at Maine Dowel and the same at South Paris Manufacturing then worked for Foster Manufacturing Co. in Strong. He went to work as a lineman for Central Maine Power and On Target, traveling all over the eastern states doing line work.
He then finally settled with Coutts Bros. of Randolph, where he was a first-class linesmen. He was the guy that would give the shirt of his back and $20. He was the rock of his whole family.
He is survived by his wife, Debra of Chesterville; his mother, Freda Dustin Hladik of Auburn; two sons, Christopher, and his fiancée, Nicole Eustis, of Chesterville and Brian; two grandsons, Aden and Thane of Dryden; three brothers, Jim of Auburn, Michael of Auburn and John of New Hampshire; four sisters, Marion Cochren of Lisbon, Flossie Corson of Lewiston, Beverly Dustin of Jay and Iris Dustin of Auburn; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father; and infant brother, Dusty.
