LEWISTON – A Celebration of Life Service honoring the life of Joye Lee Knowlton was held Sunday afternoon at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, with Michael Poulin presiding. Following vocal and instrumental tributes by Nick and Joye’s good friends, Anne and Denny Breau, Debbie Morin, Jeannie, Bette Sanborn, Shawna Vaillancourt and Kathy Haley, the service began with song “Lady,” by Kenny Rogers, that played as a video tribute in remembrance of Joye’s life. Scripture readings were by by Tim Pomerleau and Mike Poulin. Words of hope and comfort were given by the Rev. Roger Cousineau followed by the song “How Great thou Art,” sung by Debbie Labrecque. Words of legacy and love were shared by good friend, Dot Perham Whittier. The song, “The Twelth of Forever,” written by Denny Breau was also sung by him in Joye’s honor at the service. Remembrances of sharing were read by Joye and Nick’s children, Krista, who read Jessica Pomerleau’s letter of memories and their son, Nicholas, who also shared words of remembrance, as well as Joye’s good friend, Gini Hayes. The song, “Wind Beneath My Wings,” was performed by Joye’s husband, Nick Knowlton, and backing him were his close friends and performers. The closing hymn “Amazing Grace,” was sung and performed by Bette Sanborn followed by Pastor Cousineau’s benediction and blessing to conclude the service. Then all in attendence were invited to the Ramada Inn for a reception of fellowship, sharing of memories, and song. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston.
