PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (AP) – A Portsmouth man was due in court Tuesday morning to face a felony charge of burglary.

Scott Fisher, 27, and his girlfriend, 23-year-old Angela Beckford, were arrested on Friday night in what police describe as an attempted copper theft at a local nursing home. The Wentworth Home is undergoing a multimillion dollar renovation.

Beckford is charged as Fisher’s accomplice. Police arrested her after watching her driving around the area of the nursing home after Fisher’s arrest. Police accused Beckford of acting as the getaway driver.

Beckford is scheduled to be in court next month.
