AUBURN – David Krasner, 86, of Hallandale Beach, Fla., formerly of North White Plains, N.Y., passed quietly Sept. 2, at his daughter’s home in Auburn surrounded by family, after a very short illness.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 3, 1921, the younger son of Abraham and Jennie Krasner. He and his older brother Milton were raised in the greater New York City area.
As a young man, he attended New York University while also working as a clothier in his family’s business, before enlisting in the U.S. Army, from which he was later honorably discharged.
During the period of service to his country, he met the love of his life, Dorothy Schneidman. They were married on June 8, 1947. He and Dottie were blessed with four children, Helene, Paul, Steven and Amy. He and his brother-in-law Saul Schneidman were partners in their industrial plumbing business, and he was actively involved in the business until Dottie suffered a serious illness, at which time he immediately retired to attend to her needs.
He was an avid and accomplished golfer, but his greatest passions were his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Helene Krasner of New York, N.Y.; his son, Steven Krasner, and wife, Alison, of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.; his daughter, Amy, and husband, Scott Nussinow, of Auburn; as well as his three adoring grandchildren, Chad, Jennifer and Michelle, who knew him best as their beloved Poppy.
He was predeceased by his brother Milton; his son Paul; and his wife, Dottie.
