Seniors can get fit in St. Mary’s classes

LEWISTON – HealthSteps at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center has announced its senior fitness classes.

The one-hour classes provide participants with a safe and effective workout that includes a warm-up, cardiovascular component, resistance training, plus flexibility exercises. The class will build core strength to help improve or maintain activities. Certified instructors lead the exercise, provide individual attention and monitor progress.

Classes will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Sept. 10 to Oct. 12, from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the newly renovated Nutrition Center of Maine (formerly the Wallace building) on the corner of Bates and Walnut streets. Cost, $30.
