AUBURN – The St. Dominic Regional High School summer camp program has completed another year. Over the course of the summer, the program had more than 1,000 youth attend more than 50 camps during a seven-week period.
This year the school started many new partnerships, including the first year of bowling camp in association with Spare Time Recreation of Lewiston; as well as continuing many other partnerships such as the gymnastics camp with Andy Valley Gymnastics of Lewiston; golf camp with Bob Darling and Fox Ridge Golf Club of Auburn; extreme camp with the Great Outdoors in Turner; horseback riding camp with Safe Haven Farms and Tall Pines Farms of Bowdoin; martial arts camp with L/A Bushido of Lewiston; and archery camp with Central Maine Archery of Auburn.
Throughout the summer there were many highlights, including a number of campers receiving their yellow belts upon completion of martial arts camp, under the tutelage of Sensei Wright, and the drama camp’s production of “Twinderella,” directed by Josie French, which brought in an audience of more than 200 people.
The 2008 summer camp brochure is expected to be available in mid-February. For more information on the summer camp program, phone 782-6911, ext. 2156, or e-mail [email protected].
