GRAY – Learn about the production cycle of grapes and the pros and cons of grape growing in southern and coastal Maine in a practical course offered by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.

The three-session course on “Growing Grapes in Maine” is scheduled during September. The course is designed for serious gardeners and small farmers. Extension small fruit specialist David Handley will lead the session scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 13, 20 and 27, at the Maine Forest Service.

Tours of a local vineyard is included as part of the course. The cost is $30 a person or couple. All participants will receive a grape production guide.
