FARMINGTON – The community is invited to a 9 a.m. breakfast on Sunday, Sept. 9, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, corner of Main and Academy streets, when people will learn more about Sunday school opportunities for the coming year.
The church offers learning opportunities for all ages, beginning with a preschool/kindergarten class taught by Pauline Wyman.
First- and second-graders will learn from a Gospel Light curriculum taught by Josephine Bizier.
A new class for kids in grades three through five will be taught by Esther Bizier.
Teens in grades six to 12 will study the topic of “Science and Religion,” with discussions led by John Logan.
Because the church believes that being a Christian involves a lifetime of learning, Dot Meldrum will offer a course on the “Parables of Jesus” at 9 a.m. Sundays, while Gary Wolcott will lead an adult version of the “Science and Religion” course.
The whole community is welcome to participate in the kickoff breakfast or any of the courses.
A third adult course is being offered at 6 p.m. Sundays on the practice of prayer, based on the book “Prayer: Finding the Heart’s True Home” by Richard J. Foster.
For more information about any of the opportunities, call 778-2163.
The church is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA. The Rev. Susan Crane is the pastor.
