AUBURN – Cecile B. Lessard, 84, of 76 Bardwell St., Lewiston, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Fairfield, Vt., Jan. 20, 1923, a daughter of the late Leo and Lillian Petrin Boutin. She was educated in Quebec schools. She was married to Frejus L. Lessard, who died Oct. 1, 1988.

She was a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and the Ladies of Ste. Anne’s Sodality. She worked at Bates Manufacturing for 40 years as a weaver.

She enjoyed bowling, and knitting. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She will be remembered for many good deeds and her good sense of humor.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa M. Smith, and husband, Chuck, of Lewiston; a son, Ron Lessard, and his wife, Maureen, of Lewiston; her grandchildren, Ron C. Lessard, Shantelle Knight, Justin Smith and Lyndsay Smith; her great-grandchildren, Allen and Alyssa Lessard, Troy Knight and Sadie Cecile Knight; two sisters, Therese Verville of California, and Jeannine Bernier, and her husband, Normand, of Litchfield; her sisters-in-law, Doris Bureau of Lisbon and Rita Chretien of Sabattus.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Gloria Hamel and Gertrude Dick; and her brother, Ronald Boutin.
