Air Force 2nd Lt. Mark B. Rioux, son of Mona J. and Gerry P. Rioux of Lewiston, recently completed the advanced naval flight officer program with Training Squadron 86, Pensacola, Fla.

During the course, Rioux received extensive instruction on the functions, capabilities and operation of all systems aboard a jet aircraft. Rioux studied navigation, meteorology, electronics and flight operations and procedures.

Rioux is a 1998 graduate of Lewiston High School and joined the Air Force in November 2005. He is a 2002 graduate of University of Maine in Orono with a BA degree.
