Valuation worries

The Scoop: Middle Road resident Robert Pinard is worried about his taxes and mortgage in the wake of the town’s recent revaluation. He complained that his property was assessed at an inflated value during the recent revaluation, and worries that his mortgage payments will jump if abatement papers aren’t filed by the time new tax values take effect in December. He also questioned whether or not the appraiser actually looked at his property before filing the updated assessment.

Up Next: Board members said town assessor Donna Hayes would address the situation once she returns from medical leave, well before the December deadline.
