EXETER, N.H. – R. Michael Olivier, 63, of Exeter died Tuesday, Sept. 4, at the Exeter Hospital, after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis and cancer.
Mike was born Feb. 19, 1944, in Lewiston, the son of the late Reginald L. and Antoinette (Langelier) Olivier. He was raised in Lewiston and was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1962. He has resided in Exeter for the past 38 years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He was an auto technician and worked for McFarland Ford of Exeter for many years. Prior to McFarland Ford, he worked for Portsmouth Ford.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, among them, NASCAR racing and photography. He especially enjoyed traveling out west to South Dakota with his wife. In addition to his family, he cherished his faithful dog, Kandi.
His family members include his devoted wife of 43 years, Patricia “Pat”; his two sons, Shawn, and his wife, Laurie, of Hampton, N.H., and Jason, and his wife, Karen, of Epping, N.H.; his daughter, Christine Sadowski of Exeter, N.H., a brother, Tony, and his wife, Jane, of Australia; a sister, Gisele, and her husband, Bob Poirier, of Virginia; five grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
