Bert Godin’s letter of Sept. 4 hit the nail on the head. I believe Lewiston City Administrator James Bennett has no regard for the city’s overburdened taxpayers. He gets what he wants or threatens to cut where it will hurt the most.

He now wants residents to vote on the Casella deal, knowing it will not work. If the vote is “no,” he and his puppets will punish residents by instituting trash fees or snow fees or some such.

Did Lewiston taxpayers vote for the money spent on the Androscoggin Bank Colisee? And all the precious tax dollars paid to keep the doors open?

The big-spending administrator has been surrounded by at least four puppets, who do his bidding. They jump when he says “jump.” There is no sense for city residents to go to a council meeting. It is a cheap show because everything is decided behind closed doors beforehand.

The city is now stuck with five more years of overspending and more fees (taxes).

Westbrook got rid of Bennett, why can’t Lewiston?

As a taxpayer, I’d like to see him fired.
